The Audi A6 enters 2019 with only one engine option, a 3.0L V6 fed by a turbocharger making a total of 335 horsepower. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels. Dual-clutch transmissions tend to be capable of incredibly fast shift times while sending power to the wheels more efficiently than a traditional automatic, helping the A6 save fuel, while providing sharp shifts when the driver is looking for extra performance. Also aiding fuel economy, is Audi's mild hybrid system, which is new for this year and standard across the A6 lineup. Audi has concentrated heavily on technology in recent years and one look at the interior of the 2019 Audi A6 proves this effort has paid off. Audi's optional second-generation virtual cockpit replaces the driver's instrument panel with a large 12.3-inch display that allows driver's to view the navigation system simply by looking down at their instruments. It sounds simple, but the virtual cockpit vastly improves the driving experience by providing all the information driver's need in one place. Driver assistance functions available on the A6 are extensive as well and include an adaptive cruise control system that will keep up with traffic in speeds ranging from stopped, all the way up to 95 mph. A top view camera system allows for 360 degree viewing of the area around the A6 making parking dings a thing of the past, while an available intersection assist system monitors cross traffic and should prevent drivers from pulling out into traffic in situations with low visibility. The 2019 Audi A6 is available in three distinct trims, Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige, with an S-line package option available as well. Prices for the Premium trim start at just below $59,000 while prices for the top of the line Prestige start at roughly $67,000.
